Listening God's Voice

"Then Amos answered and said to Amaziah, 'I was no prophet, nor a prophet’s son, but I was a herdsman and a dresser of sycamore figs.'" (Amos 7:14)

I also heard the LORD Almighty saying in a small still voice, "But you, son of man, listen to what I say to you. Climb up to your watchtower and stand at your guardpost. There you will wait to see what I the LORD says and how I will answer you."

As children of God we should not be obsessed in searching for a new prophet or a son of a prophet in the town to listen to the voice of God. We should not also be that desperate to jump from one crusade to another to be in the presence of the LORD. If we only spend some quite time alone with the LORD, there He is eagerly waiting to commune with us. He desires to speak to us more than we want to listen to Him.

By the way I am not also a prophet or a son of a prophet but an ordinary man who yearns to listen to the heartbeat of God.
